               Poisonous  & Toxic Plants List

There are differences in the toxic effects of plants on humans, dogs, cats, as well as goats, iguanas, etc. You will see the list of Poisonous Plants is very extensive. There was a tv episode of Emergency Vets where a dog was undergoing surgery for getting a stick lodged in his throat. dog eating flowersThe fact is that even a stick can be dangerous to your pet or child. Use good judgment. Young children prone to putting everything in their mouth should be supervised at all times. If you have a puppy or a dog prone to chewing, take a good look at the plants in your yard and their potential to poison. However, if you have an adult dog who has no chewing habits - plants with some potential toxicity can be used in your yard without creating a great risk of danger."
